Imperial Topaz

A gemstone from a single source, Imperial Topaz is mined only in Brazil. The following decades will see an even higher appreciation for this incredible gemstone.


Color:
yellow, orange, peach or salmon, pink and sherry-red or reddish cognac.

Tone:
light to dark, but never too dark. The darker tones and the ones closer to the reddish hue are rarer and consequently more expensive.

Transparency:
highly transparent and usually with no visible inclusions.

 Price structure:
lighter tones or sizes under 2 carats cost US$100 per carat or less. Commercial sizes are in the range of 2 to 6 carats. The orange hues stand at US$100 to US$300 per carat. Prices for pinks and peaches vary widely, sometimes reaching more than US$1,000 per carat. Larger and darker shades of pink and sherry-red stones can cost more than US$2,000 per carat.
